Did you ever wonder why your lovely double-glazed windows are a bit draughty in winter? There are many reasons why your windows are draughty. One of those reasons can be the setting of your window. Did you know there is a winter mode on plastic windows?
Plastic windows have the following modes:
- Standard Mode – provides optimal fit of the window casement. Plastic windows come with this setting after installation. The pin (eccentric) in in central position.
- Winter Mode – the dash on the pin is turned towards the room. This setting provides a very close and tight fit.
- Summer Mode – the dash on the pin is turned towards the street. Your window allows a steady flow of fresh air.
Adjusting plastic windows is quite easy to do and does not require a handyman. All you need is a four-sided key. Some windows require the use of a key with an oval recess. A screwdriver and a pair of pliers may come in handy as well.
